Volare offers legal support to survivors of crime—even if you choose not to press charges. We aid survivors in navigating both the civil and criminal legal systems, upholding your rights throughout the proceedings, and fighting for systematic change at a state and federal level.

For sexual assault and rape survivors
Your sexual assault advocates are there to help navigate your healing journey, accompanying you at medical forensic exams, the scene of the crime, while reporting to the police, or at your home. They are not only there for you in a crisis, but can also provide long-term support with whatever path you choose to take.
Provide feedback or a complaint about your experience with any of the partners on DC’s Sexual Assault Response Team (SART).
For all survivors of crime
Your advocate’s goal is to support you in reaching your goals, and that can look differently for everyone. Advocates can arrange transportation, secure emergency housing, or introduce you to mental health or legal support. Whatever you need, they’ll work with you to find a way.
THERAPEUTIC SUPPORT

Our culturally-responsive therapeutic services pair you with professionals sharing similar lived experiences as your own. We aim to remove barriers to mental health support, facilitating one-on-one, short-term therapy, support groups, and referrals for long-term care.
Get one-on-one support
Survivors deserve a safe, dignified space to process a traumatic event. Survivors can receive 25 short-term or EMDR therapy sessions to access internal tools, increase self compassion, and navigate the healing process.
Get group support
